Accessibility.

What is implemented

• Semantic structure — one H1 per page, ordered headings, real landmarks and lists, so the page outline makes sense to a screen reader.
• Keyboard operation — every control is reachable and operable by keyboard, including the age gate, the mega menus, the search overlay, the Compass, the filters, the cart and every dialog. Dialogs trap focus while open and return it when closed.
• Visible focus — a 2px terracotta focus ring on every interactive element. We never remove the focus indicator.
• Skip link — the first item in the tab order on every page.
• Labels and state — icon-only buttons carry accessible names; filters, toggles, tabs and carousels expose pressed, selected, expanded and current state.
• Carousels — arrow buttons, dot controls, arrow-key support and native touch swipe. Autoplay pauses on hover, on focus, on touch, when the section scrolls out of view and when the tab is hidden — and never runs at all under reduced motion.
• Payment marks — rendered as text on branded chips, so they scale with the page and are readable by a screen reader.
• Touch targets — interactive controls are at least 44px on their smallest side.
• Reduced motion — the whole animation system, including the hero, the section reveals and every autoplay, is disabled when your system asks for reduced motion.
• Live regions — result counts, cart changes and toasts are announced politely rather than changing silently.
• Contrast — body copy and interface text are checked against the ivory and evergreen grounds they sit on.
• Alt text — product images describe the product, its producer and its format; decorative imagery is hidden from assistive technology.

Known limitations

• Product photography is supplied by producers and varies in quality. Where a source image is small, it is shown at its natural size rather than enlarged.
• Long producer descriptions are reproduced as written, so their reading level varies.
